Installing Google TV on Windows 10/11

Google or Android TV has become very essential part our everyday life mainly because modern televisions now come built-in with Google or Android TV providing rich diverse viewer experience. But, what if I told you that you can have that experience right on your laptop machine as well without buying any additional costly premium TV products.

Today, I shall demonstrate how you can install Google TV on your windows 10 or 11 machine. 

 


Prerequisites:

Before proceeding any further in this article, following are some of the many prerequisites for this article:
  1. Down & Install Android Studio.
  2. Your System must have wither Windows 10 or 11 Operating System. 
  3. Your System must have at least 16 GB RAM
  4. Your System must have at least 16 GB Disk Space 

Let's begin now.

1) First step is to make sure that your system meets below requirements in order to install the Android Studio for Google TV i.e.

 

 
 
2) In the next step, download the latest version of the Android Studio as shown below from the official website i.e.




 
3) Now, open the downloaded installer of Android Studio and follow the on screen wizard instructions to install it on your windows machine as shown below i.e.








 
4)  Next step is to open the installed Android Studio and download the require missing components as shown below i.e.

 






 
5) When the missing components downloads are completed then in the main screen of Android Studio click Virtual Device Manager form "More Actions" menu as shown below i.e.



6) Now click on the plus (+) sign to create a new virtual device for Google TV as shown below i.e. 


7) In this screen select TV from the left side options and choose the television resolution that you prefer. I personally prefer 1080p (FHD) option and then click next as shown below i.e.


8) In the next screen make sure to select the Google TV image option and then click finish as shown below i.e.


9) Now click yes if asked to download and then wait for the download to complete and then click finish as shown below i.e.



10) Click the play button next to the Google TV emulator as shown below i.e.


11) Wait for the emulator to start, then setup your google account and enjoy watching your favorite channels on your laptop instead of buying any additional expensive TV products as shown below i.e.
